One thing that is hard to do when you start any program is to stay motivated to keep up the program. There are so many things that we can easily let get in the way of exercise and positive ways of managing stress. At the moment they seem really are important but taking care of yourself is important also.
Motivation for heart health is that which we do to protect our heart from heart disease and which may also help protect us from other conditions as well. Again, a tool like PowerLung can be a motivator for staying with a positive change that will help you manage your stress and take the positive actions mentioned in the previous parts of this article. PowerLung also works well with many of the tools listed here.
- Training or workout buddy
- Heart rate monitor
- Goal setting
- Organized program to prepare for an event
- Personal trainer
- Training log(s), notebooks, online or apps
Nothing in the list above is new is it? We’ve put them here to help you remember choices you already have to help you track and stay with the positive choices you have made as well as to help you keep using your PowerLung regularly.
Believe it or not, people actually buy a PowerLung and then don’t use it regularly.
Beyond the fact that is is Heart Month, and it is a good idea, why are we at PowerLung passionate about heart health and offering special products?
It is really very simple because that’s why we exist. The inventor of PowerLung, Mr. Barry Jarvis, was a sub-3 hour marathon runner who qualified for the Boston Marathon and was ready to run it. A few months before the event, Mr. Jarvis had a heart attack. He was 49 years old. Many times people this young do not make it through the attack but because he had always been so active it helped him survive.
If he was in such good shape why did he have a heart attack? No one knows for sure but likely genetics played a role since heart disease ran in his family. This is another reason to manage your stress and take care of your heart because right now we can’t overcome the genetic aspects but we can help keep our hearts strong.
