PowerLung has been invited to attend COPA Practice Growth 2014, the only conference in the UK that specializes in business networking, learning and interactive exhibition for chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and acupuncturists. The second annual event will be held June 12-13 in London at the ExCeL London Exhibition and Convention Centre where PowerLung will be one of the 100 exhibitors with a booth on display.
PowerLung is especially pleased to have Dr. Andy Scott, course leader and senior lecturer for the Department of Sports & Exercise Science at the University of Portsmouth, as its speaking representative for the conference. He is currently involved with various university-based studies on Respiratory Muscle Training and the benefits of inhale and exhale training. Scott recently spoke this past month in Orlando at the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) 61st Annual Meeting, which was the fifth World Congress on Exercise is Medicine and World Congress on the Role of Inflammation in Exercise, Health and Disease.
He has also received the following certifications in regard to his studies:
- ACSM Health Fitness Specialist
- BACPR Phase IV Instructor
- Posture Stability Instructor for falls prevention
- Level 4 Specialist Exercise Instructor on the Register of Exercise Professionals
- Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
The COPA conference is expected to have at least 4,000 private practice rehabilitation therapists in attendance during the two-day event. The conference will include 60 free seminars, eight workshops, interactive master classes, workshops, and live debates on topics like pitching for funding, cross-profession diagnosis, and differing treatments amongst diverse vocations.
