Pressure-flow specificity of inspiratory muscle training.

We conclude that training protocols characterized by generating high inspiratory pressure or high inspiratory flow will specifically increase Pesmax or VImax, respectively. In contrast, intermediate training protocols produce a more uniform increase in VImax and flow.
