2000 Rowing Achievements

  • Went as part of the Olympic Squad to Sydney on NOCSA’s Operation Excellence.
  • Represented SA at the World Cup Rowing Regatta in Vienna in June-July. Achieved 10th place in Men’s Lightweight Single Scull
  • Represented SA at the World Cup Rowing Regatta in Henley in June-July in Men’s Single Scull
  • Represented SA at the World Cup Rowing Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland in June-July, achieved 7th place in the Men’s Lightweight Coxless Four
  • September Olympic Games, Sydney Australia SA Men’s Coxless Four came 5th.

1999 Rowing Achievements

  • Received my National Protea Colours for Rowing for representing South Africa at the 1st leg of the World Cup, Rowing Championships in Belgium, placed 10th. Second leg of the World Cup in Vienna Austria, placed 6th.
  • Received my National Protea Colours for Rowing for representing South Africa at the World Rowing Championships in St Catherine’s, Canada.

1997 Rowing Achievements

  • Represented SA in Germany in May in the first leg of the rowing World Cup in the Men’s Lightweight Coxless Four – Placed 10th. 
  • Represented SA in the Lightweight Single Scull in Henley (England) and Lucerne (Switzerland).
  • Represented SA at the Rowing world Championships in Aguibelette France in August, Men’s Lightweight single sculls, placed 10th.
  • Received my National Protea Colours for Rowing for representing South Africa at the World Rowing Championships in France.

1996 Rowing Achievements

  • Represented VLC at the Buffalo Regatta in East London, February, winner of the Grand Challenge Trophy.
  • Represented VLC at the SA Championships, April, winning three gold medals.
  • Represented Trident Rowing Club, traveling abroad as part of NOCSA’s Operation Excellence Programme, May/June. Represented South Africa in the Lightweight single scull in Mannheim, Duisberg (Germany), Lucerne (Switzerland).
  • Selected as Reserve for the South African rowing Team to represent SA at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in June/July.

1995 Rowing Achievements

  • Represented Victoria Lake Club at Riviera Vaal Rowing Regatta, February (1st Place).
  • Represented Victoria Lake Club at the Buffalo Regatta in East London, February, winner of the Grand Challenge Trophy.
  • Represented Trident Rowing Club at the Africa Rowing Championships, March (1st Place).
  • Represented VLC at the Natal Rowing Championships in March (1st Place).
  • Represented VLC at the Gauteng rowing Championships, April (1st Place).
  • Represented VLC at the South African Rowing Championships, April (2nd Place).
  • My VLC crew (coxless four) received “Sportsman of the Year”.

1994 Rowing Achievements

  • Received my under "23" South African National Colours for having represented South Africa at the Under 23 world Rowing Championships, Paris, France
